A BASIC PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM

Mics

Here is our 4 channel mixing desk again. This time we have the band's microphones connected to the desk.

The acoustic guitarist's mic is connected with a mic lead to the mic input on channel 1
The
flute player's mic is connected with a mic lead to the mic input on channel 2
The
harp player's mic is connected with a mic lead to the mic input on channel 3
The
bodhrán player's mic is connected with a mic lead to the mic input on channel 4

All four signals can have their individual levels adjusted with the blue faders before being sent on to the master section. Here the summed signals are output to the amplifier & speakers. The red fader controls the level of all four channels being sent to the amplifier. In our example you can see that we have lowered the fader of the bodhrán on channel four. This means the bodhrán will be quieter in the mix when heard through the speakers.
