COMBINE – This does the opposite of divide & will join two tracks together into one new longer one.


Procedure:

  • Press “menu”
  • Use scroll wheel to select “combine”
  • Press Yes or scroll wheel in

 

Display shows “+2 ‘ 1” This means that Track 2 will be added onto, or combined with Track 1 to make a new longer Track 1. (NB as one track has been combined with another, you have effectively lost one track. This means that track 3 will now become the new Track 2, Track 4 will become the new Track 3 etc.

Combine

The diagram above shows five tracks on the upper line. On the lower line you can see that Track 1 & Track 2 have been combined to make a new longer Track 1. Notice how the subsequent tracks have been renumbered.

Computer equivalent: Shift/Click on the two audio files you wish to combine to select them.
Choose "consolidate" from the edit menu.

A – B ERASE – This allows you to remove a section of audio from within a Track.

ABerase

In the example above you can see the highlighted area in the upper track - This is the section we wish to remove using the A - B Erase edit. We have located the "A" or the "in" point & the "B" or the "out" point.

Choosing A - B Erase will remove the highlighted section & stick the resultant audio file back together again - as shown in the lower track.


Procedure:

  • Press “menu”
  • Use scroll wheel to select A – B Erase
  • Press Yes or scroll wheel in
  • Use wheel to select track
  • Press Yes or scroll wheel in

The track will start to play from the start & you will have to identify the point at which you want to start erasing audio – This will be your “A” point.

  • When you reach the “A” point press the scroll wheel in.

Use the scroll wheel to adjust your edit point backwards & forwards.

  • When you are happy with your edit point press the scroll wheel in again.

The Track will continue playing & you will now identify your “B” point – the point you wish to stop erasing audio.

  • When you reach the “B” point press the scroll wheel in.

Use the scroll wheel to adjust your edit point backwards & forwards.

  • When you are happy with your edit point press the scroll wheel in again.

The section between the “A” & “B” points is removed leaving no gap.
 

Computer equivalent: Use the Selector tool to select the audio you wish to remove.
Press delete & consolidate the remaining audio regions.
