DISC ERASE This will erase all data on the minidisc. Use with caution!

Procedure:

  • Press “menu”
  • Use scroll wheel to select “all erase?”
  • Minidisc recorder will enquire "Are you sure?"
  • Press Yes button or scroll wheel in

Computer equivalent – highlight folder containing the audio files for a
particular project & press “delete.”

DIVIDE – This will divide one track into two by splitting the track at the edit point you specify.

Track1

In the picture above you can see a waveform. (This is obviously taken from a computer display - a minidisc recorder can not display a waveform like this.) You can see that there are six "blobs" of audio. The first "blob" is a cough & we want to divide the track after this, just before the second "blob."

When the divide edit has been completed, you will have two tracks, the first of which you can erase & the second you will wish to keep & name.

Procedure:

  • Press “menu”
  • Use scroll wheel to select “Divide”
  • Press Yes button or scroll wheel in
  • Use scroll wheel to select track for dividing

Now the minidisc player will start playing the track. At the point where you wish to divide the track press the Yes button (or press the scroll wheel in.) This roughly sets the edit point & the minidisc player now repeats a section around the edit point enabling you to “fine tune” your edit point. Use the scroll wheel to move the edit point either forwards or backwards & when you are happy with your edit point press the yes button (or press the scroll wheel in.)

Divide

Computer equivalent: With the Selector tool, click where you wish to divide the audio region.
Then from the edit menu choose "separate region at selection."
